    I'm contemplating dating Jennifer Aniston.

Reminds me of a good line a few months back on VSiN, the Vegas gambling channel. Rodgers went down but the Packers were still listed as 5-1 to win the title at one sportsbook and one of their hosts went on a rant. "5 to 1 to win the Super Bowl, gimme a break! I have better odds of dating Kate Upton!" Other host: "You're not 4 to 1 to date Kate Upton."

    Bookie humor.

Any guesses on which team will sign Palmeiro, and how well he will hit?

Obviously we are talking AL teams so he can DH. I could see Boston signing him, since they couldn't get Stanton or Otani.

I'm guessing: .235 w/ 20 HRs in 350 at bats. (basically Pujols numbers but with a better OBP, and for a much lower salary)

I remember the cover. Did Brown actually participate in training camp? Or was it a conspiratorial charade with SI?

This was my takeaway. What a fucking joke.

Yep. This might be the most absurd alleged comeback since Jim Palmer tried one in about 1990 or 1992 in spring training.

An 0-21 start could make someone believe they could do better.

I had forgotten this, but as this points out, Palmer's comeback attempt came after he had already been voted into Cooperstown.

Jack Quinn had a base hit at 49 years of age in 1933. Since then, who is the oldest MLB player with a base hit in a regular-season game?
