As a Bama fan and an Ole Miss grad, this hick agrees 100 percent. I'd be just as upset if some enraged fan did this in the Grove, for sure.

I'm an LSU graduate and fan. I despise Auburn and think their fans are a bunch of arrogant pricks. I hope their football program gets the death penalty when all of the Cam Newton dust finally settles.
And even I think the guy who poisoned the trees should be hung from their rotting branches.
Some things are sacred, and the Toomer's Corner trees are one of them.

This whole thing reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Bart cuts the head off the statue to impress the bullies, then the entire town turns on him.

Fortunately the turnip tree is still alive and well.

Thank God, the old folks can also sit around the lemon tree and tell a tale or two.

Cam Newton's at the NBA All-Star game.

I wonder if he's taking tomorrow off from class to mourn?

As Toomer's Corner looked around the arena, in a sea of blue and orange, it began to miss its days in college.
It took a plane to St. Louis, just one more time to capture the atmosphere....

I've seen Cam Newton's smirk before -- 21 years ago on Chris Webber. He mourned nothing.

Mr. Two Bits is going to call into the Finebaum tomorrow and announce that he fed chocolate to the last five UGAs. :D
