Please remember New Orleans had the third-best passing defense during the regular season based on yards allowed, while Philly was ninth.

Peyton is considered superior to Grossman without question. Their postseason performances do not support this.

"Best passing defense" is the worst way to judge a defense. The Saints had the third-best passing defense because they had the second-worst rushing defense, in terms of yards per carry. They gave up nearly five yards per rush. Why pass on them?

While Oakland did have a halfway decent defense, its top-ranked pass defense is better explained by the fact that its opponents didn't have to throw to play catch-up.

The second-best pass defense? The Indianapolis Colts. See "New Orleans Saints" for that explanation.

Eagles' rushing defense? Seventh from last. Overall, the Eagles' defense was middle-of-the-pack.

Also, Grossman didn't play the Eagles. He played Seattle, whose secondary was decimated by injuries.

If I'm the Bears, what worries me most about Grossman is his inconsistency in completing short passes, which he will have to do to loosen up the Cover 2.
