My mom went and saw Quantum of Solace and, even with her love of all things British, she said it stunk.

Your mom probably expected something in the Connery-Moore-Brosnan mode.

Nah, she liked Casino Royale, she just thought the whole plot was lacking. I don't know how it could have been, it took her close to an hour to explain the whole damn film.

I saw Quantum of Solace last night, excellent action movie. No gadgets for Bond, no humor too many Fords. Shortest Bond movie I can remember, 1:45. Very compelling movie, however. Looks like they're taking Bond to a new place, much more realistic, less fantasy/comic book. And if you couldn't figure it out, James Bond could kick Jason Bourne's ass in a heart beat.

I beg to differ ;). Have you seen some of the fight scenes in the Bourne films, he does a pretty good job of whipping someone's ass.

Disagree. The movies' Jason Bourne did all that with his government working against him.

In Quantum, Bond also does it with his government and the CIA working against him.

Craig does many of those leaping stunts himself.

    Dude's a man.

Craig is a great Bond. Unquestionably the best since Connery.

Quantum of Solace was a bit of a disappointment. It was too slow for a Bond film. The Bond girls were disappointing and the villain was not on par with the best bond films.

It was better than any of the Dalton/Brosnan movies that I hated, but nowhere close to being as good as Casino Royale, which I think ranks among the best Bond films ever.

It was better than any Dalton/Brosnan movie, but I did like the Brosnan movies. not the Dalton ones.

Re-booting the series with Craig was a great move, now Bond can go back after SPECTRE, the organization of Mr. Green and Mr. White. Maybe Ernst Stavro Bloleld will emerge as "Fearless Leader".

Casino Roylae ranks there with Dr. No and From Russia with Love as the best of the series

I liked Brosnan as Bond, but the movies sucked. I did not like anything about the series when Timothy Dalton was Bond, in part because everyone knew that if it wasn't for Remington fucking Steele, we wouldn't have been subjected to Dalton.

My four favorite Bond films in no order are Dr. No, From Russia with Love, Spy Who Loved Me and Casino Royale.

The first James Bond movie I ever saw as a first release in a theater was Live and Let Die. I still love that and it's in my top five. The Man with the Golden Gun is very underrated. I've seen Goldfinger so many times I'm tired of it, but it's a great one, too.
