Qantas.... Still hasn't crashed!

    That's nuts. Kudos to the pilot.

    Wonder what it will turn out to be:

    Terrorism?
    Sabotage by a disgruntled mechanic?
    or some weird accident?

    No deaths yet. That satisfies the "never crashed" criteria to me.
     
  6. Hell of a job by them getting the plane down safely.

    Maybe it was a structural fatigue problem?

    There was a United Airlines 747 that had a hole blown out the side off Honolulu many years ago, but that was because the latches on a cargo door fatigued.

    This Qantas incident might be a smaller-scale version of the Aloha Airlines accident, when structural fatigue led to the roof blowing off. That'd be my guess, anyway.

    Early word is some kind of strange electromagnetic disturbance over the South Pacific. Authorities suspect it has something to do with this guy:
