Putin: U.S. orchestrated Georgia conflict

    It isn’t exactly Georgia’s. The southern part of the region was given to the Georgian republic when the USSR was formed. Georgia simply claimed the land as their own even though it never really was.

    Georgia decided to launch an offensive into South Ossetia. Since South Ossetia didn’t have a military, Georgia’s rockets hit residential buildings, hospitals and schools. The Georgian military then road through the towns and flooded the basements in order to draw out the remaining survivors.

    It was damn near an act of genocide.

    The South Ossetians never considered themselves Georgians nor Russians. However, they are closer to Russia than they are to the Georgians.

    If even 70 percent of this is true, it all makes much more sense to me now.
