Exactly. I'm amazed how so many in the media let Russia and others just get away with characterizing Georgia's actions as an "invasion" without ever bothering to ask the most obvious question: how do you invade a region that's part of your own country and whose independence has never been diplomatically or legally recognized?

I'll take that bet. I bet Russia is not the biggest issue at the RNC. What are we betting?

Wouldn't that be like us invading Texas?

    War on terrorism? Fail.
    Economy? Fail.
Better off than you were four years ago? Fail.

About all they have to fall back on is wagging the dog .. or in this case, the bear.

    Alright. Let us bet.

The first statement was that Russia would be the No. 1 topic at the RNC.

You bet it will. I bet it won't. Let's do it.

I saw this post and thought the Rooskies had weaponized their subways.

As a resident of New York, I have to say that there's a perilous Subway Gap looming between our two great powers.

Maybe EVERY DAMN THING I READ ON THE SUBJECT WAS WRONG, but it's not clear. It's blatantly false. What's been reported is that the administration was basically begging them not to go into S.O. I think one of the quotes was that they told Georgia it was "walking into a Russian trap."

Don't have time to look up any stories right now. But take a look through the Time.com archives.

When people get scared, they vote for Republicans.

I see the Georgia conflict, and then I see the plummeting gas prices, and I get scared that the Republicans will somehow find a way to win this damn thing.
