The pay has been upped in the past year. I don't know if that means $19,999 to $20,001 to look better in the salary range.

Pretty area. Closest city life is Pittsburgh, and I was shocked to hear it's only an hour, 40 minutes away. Their HS teams don't tend to do much on a statewide scale, FWIW. Groundhogs plentiful.

Yeah, they've been ripped on here for their low pay scale before. Maybe they got a little embarrassed by it, or are tired of people bolting for the nearest Wal-Mart or McDonalds to get themselves a raise.

For me, it's always a red flag when you send your stuff to a publisher as opposed to an editor.

It's a pretty small paper. Plus, the editor could be fairly new to a management position and hasn't made many hires before.

At small papers, publishers can be a bit more hands on (not necessarily in a bad way either).

Question which must be answered (orally):

How much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?

A woodchuck would chuck all the wood if a woodchuck could chuck wood.

To be fair, Dickinson has had two openings in less time.
