Beer sales at English pubs have fallen to the lowest levels since the Great Depression.

Used to be, beer was cheaper in a pub than it was in an English supermarket. (I know; I've comparison-shopped.)

Something has changed, obviously. Anti-smoking laws spring to mind?

And the greatest non-Irish pub in the world, The Hawley Arms in Camden Town, was semi-destroyed in a fire recently.

I doubt SportsJournalists.com-London is a large group, but if anyone's in London, there's a benefit show at Dingwall's on Aug. 14.

That was definitely not the case when I was there a little over a year ago.

I'll have a pint of bitter and half a ploughman's sandwich next time you're up, 'Gola. I'll get the round after that.

Oh wait, you're not in England. ;)

Hopefully you're at least in a real pub and not a "pub" with nothing but Bud/Miller/Coors and TGI Friday's-style slop.

For a second I thought this was about someone trying to decide if they should shave their genitals or not.

Ploughman's Lunch is fucking great. Pub not far from me - here in the Toronto 'burbs - served a great one back in the day.
