Publisher fibs on her resume

I see that the publisher hired for the Orange County Register has backed out after admitting she misstated her educational background. And she already has been replaced as publisher in Duluth, Minn.

News release and news story don't say what Marti Buscaglia fibbed about; anyone know?

Don't people ever learn their lesson on this subject?

And why would anyone want to leave Duluth for the OC? :)

These are the people being hired to run newspapers these days. Duluth to Orange County, thats a pretty big leap.

Actually, she has a lot of background in Orange County. So that part makes sense.

Rumor has it that if she had gotten away with her resume padding, she would have hired Mike Freeman as a columnist at the Register.

Any thread including a picture of Ralph Wiggum is an instant classic.

I was more interested in this side link from the E&P story:

Father: Par Ridder Could Void Own Noncompete Pact

Why not? Tony voided an entire company, so what's a little contract.

  12. Wow. Crazy story. Wonder what will happen to her now. I can see someone else snapping her up, even if it's some place a bit smaller ... I've heard of publishers with a lot less credibility ... and she worked in advertising ... not like it could get any worse.
