    Sports Editor-Part Time
    Naugatuck, Connecticut
    Cover local sports and related news events in the tri-town area.
    Write, compile and edit local sports stories, interview coaches, players and other local personalities. Photograph school sporting events, games at home or away. Edit and layout sports pages, using Quark. Develop and execute plan for sports coverage on a week-to-week basis. Develop and maintain contacts of sports people in the community. Occasionally cover local news stories and be available to take pictures, cover stories on weekends, weekday nights as necessary. Typing, office duties, answer phone as necessary, other duties as assigned.

    Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field.

    That's a heck of a lot of responsibilities for someone they won't pay as a full-timer.

    That right there will take 40+ hours to do.

    Get somebody else to do that shit.

    All that on a part-time basis? Sure, if you cover one high school, maybe.

    And then if you add the "you'll also be our bitch for news stories and secretarial duties," you're talking about the duties for at least 2 1/2 positions on a "part-time" basis. WTF?

    The sad thing is they'll probably find some sucker willing to do those things for part-time pay (presumably with no health insurance or other benefits either) who wants to get into this business.
