For those of you into the magazine side of things, check out www.ed2010.com and sign up for the email list. You get daily news and gems like this:

New EdSchool Online class: How to get freelance work (and end up on staff if you want to!)
Mag freelancer and teacher Eric Butterman and Ed2010 present an online 5-week super-intensive course on freelance pitching and writing. Learn how to write the best email pitches possible, be good on the phone and actually sell articles (one student in his last in-person class sold a 2000-word feature to Running Times, another sold a $1000 food article and a first-time writer sold three pieces, all while the class was still running!).
    Class Details
How It Happens: A weekly lecture is posted each Monday followed by a one-hour online chat room meeting
    When: Wednesdays from 9 to 10pm EST, July 19th - August 16th
    Cost: $185

How Do I Sign Up: Enrollment is limited, so RSVP to freelance@ed2010.com is REQUIRED. You'll get an email back with the PayPal URL.

About Eric Butterman: He's been an editor on staff at Folio: and Travel Agent magazine, and has written for Glamour, Men's Fitness and countless other titles.
