I'm surprised to hear that of Woodson from somebody who probably saw a good portion of his games. Woodson couldn't cover like Deion Sanders, but he was still among the league's best in that area and he would actually hit somebody once in a while.

I voted for Carter, Grimm, Kuch, Smith, Sharpe, Thomas, Woodson. If I had to lose one it'd be Sharpe.

I picked Carter, Smith, Woodson, Thomas, Sharpe, McDaniel, Dawson.

  4. Sanders was a pure cover corner. He was to physical contact what Dan Marino was to scrambling.
Not saying Woodson wasn't good, just over-hyped. A HOF'er OK. A first-ballot lock, maybe, but more so on hype than stats. IMO.

Well, the man did have 71 career interceptions, which I think is third all time. He returned 12 for touchdowns. Not exactly terrible statistics.

  6. Maybe I'm trying to offset my fanboiish-ness.

Carter, Kuechenberg, McDaniel, Reed, Smith, Thomas, Woodson.

Anyone who puts Tagliabue really needs to lose their ballot. Especially Peter King.

As a Chiefs fan, I have to say I am a little surprised at all the confidence/support for Derrick Thomas. He's missed out every year for what, the last six years? What is any different about this year?

Smith, Carter, Woodson, Wilson, Dawson, Kuechenberg, Dent.

Dawson, wasn't he one of the best pulling centers ever? I thought he dominated for an extended time; just like Kuechenberg.

Dent because he was dominant; although not so much against the run.

Woodson was outstanding for a long time.
