While I like the idea of Rickey Jackson finally getting in, no Cris Carter? No Shannon Sharpe?

    Whoops. Try again.

    Randy Jackson? RANDY JACKSON?

    Good freaking grief, that's embarrassing.

(I know who it is ... but for such a formal announcement, that's bad.)

This was my first year as a voter. Rules prevent me from revealing which candidates received my votes. Rules also prevent me from disclosing specifics of conversations.

    Are you kidding me?

Haley's bad-guy reputation might have worked against him, again. He probably once hurt some writers' feelings.

Not a fan of bad guys. But since when has any major professional Hall of Fame let that factor into their decisions?

I like Rickey Jackson but at no point in their careers would I take him over Charles Haley. Got no problem with Grimm or Randle. Linemen, particularly interior linemen, never seem to get their due and this is a pleasant surprise

The minutes should be posted online.

    Pile of shit.

Not saying he's not worthy, but do you think the Saints' run is giving Rickey Jackson an extra boost?

There are two days a year in which I really miss Dr. Z.

This is one. The other is when the announcers column usually came out.

All I remember about John Randle is that he was a hole to be run through on annually porous Vikings defenses
