Anybody care? I'm usually glued to the TV during stuff like this but for some reason I could care less this time around. Maybe it was all the hype over the FedEx Cup but I haven't watched more than about two minutes of the two Tour events since the Tour Championship.

I like watching match-play, but I think the four-day format the President's Cup uses it too long.

Three days, with players getting switched in and out as in the Ryder Cup, I think works better, especially when you have quite a few guys going 36 holes for the first two days.

Woody Austin just fell into a lake. Not that I'm watching.

That was outstanding. Like the talking heads said, that only happens to Woody.

Missed it watching last night's Survivor. But it might not be long before they produce a DVD of "Woody's Greatest Hits."

Steve Stricker, from the fairway behind Austin, said from his vantage point, he couldn't tell what happened. But he said he knew it "could only be Woody."

Presidents Cup doesn't take itself as seriously as Ryder Cup does now, which is nice.
Love the shots of Player and Nicklaus making the pairings.

And any match play kicks ass over stroke play. Whole different game.

Any net video of Woody falling?
I want to show my wife.
    Never mind.

Let me ask this: When did Nicklaus become such a "everyone is a winner!" guy? The first day, he tells Mickelson to concede a par put from Vijay because he doesn't want to embarass Vijay. So the internationals get a half point. Obviously, with the Americans now putting up a huge lead, it's probably irrelevant, but what if the Americans choked and it came down to that half point? Isn't the nature of gentlemanly competition that you want to beat the other guy, then shake his hand afterward?

I know he feels like the Ryder Cup has become too intense and all, but does that mean the President's Cup captain should be conceding match-deciding four footers on the first day?

I know, I know, Tony Jacklin's conceded two-footer in the 1969 Ryder Cup. But still.

I missed the Nicklaus-Mickleson-Vijay thing. But if I'm Mickelson, I don't do it. I say fuck Vijay for being such a prick in the past. If Jack doesn't like it, that's too damn bad.
