When you stay in your basement and play video games all day instead of going to school, you're likely not the smartest tool in the shed.

Hasn't worked yet, but it's been tried.

They tried to impeach a judge in the 1800s for some bribery shit he did beforehand, but a court said you could not impeach. In 1973 Agnew called on an impeachment inquiry on himself in order to clear his name (citing precedent from what John C. Calhoun did in 1826), but the House refused to take it up.

How does a guy from Kenya get this video that looks like it was taken by Don Jr?

That book lives on my TBR list!

One of the best and most objective looks at this mindset is Tony Horwitz's Confederates in the Attic.

I'm a fan of Edward Larson's Summer For The Gods. This is not about the romantic notions attached to secessionist ideas so much as it shines a light on stereotypes and how normative historic wisdom is shaped by a need to create two-dimensional heroes and villains. This usually occludes the more nuanced truths about what happened.

Kathleen Blee is an example of someone whose work shattered a lot of accepted misinformation about how racist groups recruit and function within polite society. She no longer pursues that particular line of inquiry for, uh, reasons. The sad truth is academicians do not have the same degree of remove and security as people in public service, law, and some members of the popular media.

I agree this group warrants scrutiny. It will most likely come from a social scientist who has family or friendship ties with people on the inside. They would also have the most to lose, so there will be some soul searching going on before anything is presented at AAA or CfSC. I reckon that's already happening.

We do not need academic scrutiny of these people. We need law enforcement scrutiny.

And the time to mount a legal challenge was when the law was passed, not after millions cast their vote.

But it wasn't until millions had cast their votes that his preferred presidential candidate lost the state.
