    Since the Senate will acquit Trump regardless, why not allow all the witnesses, testimony and evidence? It's almost like the GOP Senators know Trump is guilty and that all that material would hurt him among independents....

    No, they know it will hurt THEM to be seen on national TV sitting there stonefaced as all the evidence is presented and then voting to acquit anyway. It's their phony baloney jobs they're worried about.
