The percentage of the American public that is strongly fired up over abortion, either way, is not that big.

No. That is not what I wrote.

What I'm writing - and perhaps I'm cynical here - is this: Abortion has a no-trade clause with the Democratic Party. You could offer everything - climate change, health care anything and everything - for an overturn of Roe v. Wade, for returning the matter to the states, and the answer would be no. It'd be viewed as a devil's bargain.

I'm writing this analysis irrespective of my own opinion on abortion. I just think it's enormously important to Democrats. The most important issue.

Dual Sovereignty has always existed in the US, only a liberal activist justice would say otherwise. Or a justice looking for a particular outcome without carrying about the Constitution, Clarence Thomas.

I think it is enormously important to Republicans. So there. Abortion is down the list of reasons I now vote Dem. I don't feel comfortable telling women what they can and can not do regarding their health/bodies. Abortion is part of this equation.

Given that you said our culture should honor women's work at home, rather than saying we should honor the work of both men and women at home, what you are saying is sexist.

It's enormously important to a block of voters on both sides.

But yes, those silly Democrats refusing to sell out women's rights!
