Call me old-fashioned, but seeing the President of the United States use cuss words is so revolting....like everything else he does.

Hope you weren’t a LBJ fan.

Trump’s no Jimmy Carter. Or Obama. But the real change in our culture, from LBJ’s day until now, is the leak culture in politics, and the absolute willingness of journalists to use anonymous sources to convey information in those leaks.

Trump's cuss words are included in an official government report. How do leaks play into that? Also, leaks are as old as Washington itself.

The reason I think it’s interesting is it proves the culture has changed to the point where we are no longer offended by profanity. This is a tweet that pop culture scholars should mark along with NYPD Blue.

Trump is more vulgar and profane than most people, but I’m not sure he would have tweeted this if he had been president a decade ago. Things have really changed. He has been a part of that change, but no more than anybody or anything else.

"Focus on what you can do for country instead of your usual bullshit." JFK's inaugural address, January 1961
"I am tired of all this Iran bullshit." President Jimmy Carter in his 1980 SOTU address introducing the Carter Doctrine
"SDI is basically bullshit." President Ronald Reagan, Oval Office Address, 1983

We know Trump is profane in part because the people around him tell us so. (Or, in this case, the investigators.)

I mean, is Trump’s language vulgar? Yeah. Does the Starr report contain far more vulgar things? Oh yeah.

The point is, we know so much about Trump’s vulgarities because, in contrast to what critics say is a desire to protect him, no one in particular is loyal to him.

He ought to be trying to suppress it, like you wouldn't say fuck around your girlfriend's grandma.

Sarah Sanders needs to resign, today, now. She is a confirmed public liar in a government document.

I completely agree with your last sentence. As Dan Drezner's Toddler in Chief thread on Twitter shows, the most devastating descriptions of Trump come from his staff and Congressional allies, not his critics and opponents. As the Mueller report shows, even some of his skeeviest henchpeople, like Corey Lewandowski, felt free to ignore Trump's orders.
