For someone who is regarded as a master politician, Pelosi has a real tendency to make unforced errors when it comes to Ocasio-Cortez. I could see AOC saying stuff like that about the old guard - but for it come from Pelosi about the new members and take focus off of Trump was just non-sensical.

And Bernie's camp needs to start acting like a front-runner and not freak out everytime someone takes a shot at the campaign.

She was asked about those new members, for one thing.

For another, she’s smart, and she knows the kind of potential damage someone like AOC can do to the party’s election hopes in 2020.

Mayor Pete - the most impressive of all the candidates thus far - with eventually have to wrestle with it.

Pelosi's relationship to AOC is an interesting one. At times Pelosi acts the kindly mentor, at other times the stern headmistress of her unruly boarding school of a caucus. It's almost as if she is 1. Trying to tell AOC she has no realistic future in politics outside the House (which I believe is true) but also 2. A career inside the House can wield enormous influence if properly done and be fulfilling to boot.
