Prep swimmers DQ'd for shaving at meet

High school swimmers aren't allowed to shave at the site of a swim meet once the team gets on-site.

Yahoo! Sports calls it a bizarre rule, but I wouldn't go that far. If they didn't shave on-site before, why start then?

At first I thought it was a little ticky-tack, but, first, the rule is there and it was violated, and, second, I can kind of buy it when the article talked about how it is a health measure to prevent sharing of razors.

Not as dumb a rule as DQing 4x400 relay team because one runner had different colored shoelaces than the rest.

I can understand the reasoning behind the rule. What the story made me wonder is who pointed it out to the officials.

That bush league. Either alert the officials beforehand or let it go.

Can someone explain the thread title?
    Did a preps reporter snitch?

    Or "no bush" league.

The thread title makes a reference to swimming parents harassing the preps reporter on just about anything that happens. They are the worst of the bunch since they don't know swimming's place on the totem pole.

I remember about a decade ago some track team had to forfeit a state title because one of the girls wore the wrong color sports bra.

How'd you like to be the guy to ask the awkward follow-up questions?

The follow-up by the creepy reporter (there is always that reporter at a state meet) to the swimmers would be, "Are you really slippery when wet?"
