WyoSports is looking for a talented and highly motivated prep reporter with proven writing experience. WyoSports combines the efforts of the Wyoming Tribune Eagle in Cheyenne and the Laramie Boomerang to provide southeast Wyoming with the best and most comprehensive local sports coverage. The Wyoming Tribune Eagle has won APSE Grand Slam awards from 2013-16 for our daily section, Sunday section, special section and website. We are looking for a self-starting journalist who would have an opportunity to cover a wide range of sports. High schools would be the main point of emphasis, but there are opportunities to cover some events at the University of Wyoming as well as junior hockey in the winter, baseball in the summer, professional rodeo, junior college athletics, and community and youth sports. We are looking for a well-rounded writer who not only can produce gamers and features, but trend pieces and enterprise work as well. Weekly page design work also is required; web and social media skills are a plus. Cheyenne is a town of 62,000 people just north of the Colorado border on the high plains of southeast Wyoming. It is easily within reach of both Fort Collins, Colo., and Denver. Outdoor opportunities abound. Please send resume, cover letter and writing samples to: Jeremiah Johnke, WyoSports Editor, 702 West Lincolnway, Cheyenne, WY 82001, or via email to jjohnke@wyosports.net. Please, no phone calls.

They do good work up there. You're not quite in the boonies (two hours from Denver), but a solid job that has been steppingstone over the years to bigger things. Worth a look.
