Not THAT Journal Register, thank Tebow.

ADD: But GateHouse, unfortunately. The only chain in Illinois to make people long for Gannett.

If I'm not mistaken, this paper has had layoffs/big time budget cuts/etc in the not-too-distant past. Which really surprises me that they're hiring and makes me wonder if whoever they bring in will be the first on the chopping block the next budget-cut go-round.

I was just through Springfield last weekend en route to St. Louis for the Cardinal winter warm-up. Been through there several times; can't imagine cost of living is too terribly high, but can anyone share?
