1 Macho Again (Julien Leparoux) 20-1
2 Tres Borrachos (Tyler Baze) 30-1
3 Icabad Crane (Jeremy Rose) 30-1
4 Yankee Bravo (Alex Solis) 15-1
    5 Behindathebar (David Flores) 10-1
6 Racecar Rhapsody (Robby Albarado) 30-1
7 Big Brown (Kent Desormeaux) 1-2
8 Kentucky Bear (Jamie Theriot) 15-1
    9 Stevil (John Velazquez) 30-1
10 Riley Tucker (Edgar Prado) 30-1
11 Giant Moon (Ramon Dominguez) 30-1
    12 Gayego (Mike Smith) 8-1
13 Hey Byrn (Charles Lopez) 20-1

Looks like a tough race to make any money; I'd expect the odds on Big Brown to get worse, not better. Let's hope all the horses make it home safely; otherwise PETA protesters will have the place closed down.

Wait a second...Robby Albarado on a horse that includes the word "racecar?"

    I'm so in.

IF Big Brown wins Saturday, how big is the Belmont? Field size, I mean.

My guess is 6-8 horses, tops; everybody will run for cover.

On the other hand, is VISA still giving out the $1 million bonus for winning a Triple Crown race (in addition to the race purse itself)? That might lure a few out of the barns.

There'll be more. Mile and a half's a whole new game, and the history of Triple Crown
attempts against large Belmont fields is dreadful.

    No.

Are these the odds on dying, or winning?

How long into the telecast before the first Eight Belles mention? My over-under is 2 minutes.

Bingo. Mile and a half is what makes Belmont.

Saw an interesting stat recently from an "investment" sevice. Whereas you can often get a nice payback on a Derby winner, the 1st or 2nd betting choice has won 16 of the last 21 Preaknesses.

    Big Brown makes it 17.
