    The pace is normally so slow in the Belmont that I'm not sure it sets up so well for Mine That Bird. Rachel Alexandra's style is to go the front, but I'm not keen on her chances to wire a field at a mile and a half.

    Could be a hell of a race, though.

    Just wanted to say that, although I've never (yet) bet on a horse race in my life, I always, always look forward to eavesdropping on the Triple Crown threads to hear you folks talk. I've got a ton of family in Louisville, and consequently have always had a great appreciation for the sport of kings. And Ben_H, tri, Inky, Moddy, et al, give me a greater appreciation every year. So, thanks.

    So far we have a gelding and a filly. Has there ever been a testicle-free Triple Crown?
