Full night out. Not just meeting somebody for pizza and beers.

In other words, there might be an "Ask drunk Inky" thread later*.

Anybody know what a $20 superfecta pays?

    If it's more than $1,000, I'm retiring.

Oh, what the hell. I can't tell a lie. I took the 1 horse ... and lost.

I think it'd be safe to assume you got more than $1,000.

If only you didn't have to pick the horses in order ;D

I thought 46 seconds and change for the first half mile was going to cook the horses on the front, but that's a great filly. Not that a Kentucky Derby winner needs to validate himself, but Mine That Bird did just that. Terrific effort.

I think RA probably ought to point toward the filly Triple Crown, then see what looks good in the fall.

At least I've got some winning tickets to cash. I've got my eye on a new set of irons, so I know where that dough is going.

Amazing what a long shot, as well as a few extra horses can do to a payday.

Mine That Bird apparently runs the last quarter of every race with a rocket up its ass.

My picks didn't win, didn't place, didn't show.

Fantastic effort today, off an Oaks effort which would have gutted most fillies asked to run back in 15 days.

What she needs now, is a couple months' rest. But with Jess J calling the shots, she may not get one.
She runs in the Belmont, I'm going to try to beat her, which I pointedly did NOT try to do, today.
ANd I'm going to pray she gets home safe.

I was in a crowded bar at Nationals Park and didn't have a great view. Two impressive runs for sure - I saw the half-mile split, too, and figured the front runners were out of it. Mine That Bird could have used that extra sixteenth - at what point did he get closed off the rail and have to swing a little outside? Did that make enough fo a difference to cost him the race?
