    Sounds like this path might have more of a future for you, career-wise. And I'm sure you can still find plenty of time to be "on the mountain." :)

    It can be an investment. He's getting experience with a chance to work on a resume in a field that offers career potential.
    Depending on your age, it could be a good move.

    I switched from journalism to PR/marketing four-plus years ago, and I'm thankful I did because things went in the sh%tter for a lot of people in newspapers not long after I left.
    I was 37 at the time. I don't know if I could have done it for a pay cut.
    But I wish I'd done it a lot earlier than I did.
