Looks like they're finally about to name Reid Laymance of Boston - don't know what held it up so long because he was the guy I wrote about ages ago with my "white smoke" post.
Of course, things tend to change at this joint - but my money is on this one finally, actually happening.

Any chance a buyout could have been part of it?
Good to see this one about to end.

Yes, there's a chance. Not sure how all that worked out.

I was in Reid's judging group at the Long Beach APSE judging. Very smart guy and was relentless in his editing and reasoning. Congrats to him.

Do not know him but several folks I know who do offer up raves.

Reid's tremendous. Very influential in my career. Good for him.

If no one has anything negative to say --- and I certainly don't ----- would that be a first?

Well, he does -- or did -- have some pretty ugly sweaters.

Other than that, I've got nothing.

So does Bill Cosby, but people don't seem to have problems with him. Congrats to the new guy.

Reid is I believe, a National alum.
Only met him twice, good guy from what I heard.
So does the Globe have an open spot now?

    Crutch beat me to it.
I, too, was in Reid's judging group in Long Beach last year. Nice guy and very thorough in the judging process.
    Congrats to Reid
