    Perhaps the only song with a marimba solo to hit the top three on the Billboard charts. Which shows you how shitty 1976 was for music.

    Maumann, whatever you want to say, the yacht rock genre is and has been colorful.
    What I've noticed is how many of these folks are naturally gifted in the so-called 'romantic' arts- music, poetry and painting.

    I ran up on this on Youtube. The music is really good, but truly it's more of a dance video. It's basically "The Rich Man's Frug", from Sweet Charity, done to different music but retaining many of the original Bob Fosse choreography cues. It's sort of amazing to me to see a dance cover, particularly of 60 year old Bob Fosse dance. Good stuff. It's not an exact cover, but it plainly is as much a lift as an "inspired by" sort of thing.

    I'm at Five Guys, where a Rush song is playing.

    Oh, man, this is great.

    Except a Rush song is playing.

    Non-visible griddles crackle with meat,
    Overfilled fry cups, glistening with MSG;
    Grease-spotted food bags, untied waistbands,
    Burger toppings without price, almost free!

    Dawes has become a jam band…and I’m finally old enough to be okay with that.
