    One-hit wonders.

Somehow I decided to dial up some of the one-off hits of the circa-1970 era, got pulled into a Tony Burrows sequence with "Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)," then followed the "similar songs" playlist down to Marmalade's "Reflections Of My Life," then found this, recorded in December of last year:

Dean Ford, born Thomas McAleese, died Dec. 31, 2018 in Los Angeles.

Warren Hayes sits in with David Bromberg and his band for the encore. If you like jam bands this is worth a listen.

And probably my favorite David Bromberg, "I will not be your fool", from 1975 or so. Chicago blues, but the lyric, omg that's where it's at.

"If a plaything is all you wanted,
you can go out and get yourself another boy.
    cuz I took that class.
I graduated Phi Beta goddam Kappa from that school.

I'll be your lover or your friend, dahlin',
but I'm never ever ever gonna be your fool!"

It's not till he'd been going a while and he expands on that line that things get fun.

    Good shit, Maynard.

    Maybe the greatest music ever.

In honor of the 17 students and staff who lost their lives a year ago today at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., I've played this particular version of "Edge Of Seventeen."

There's a certain urgency in this live version that hasn't been present in many live versions that weren't somehow coke-inspired.

Liam notoriously hated acoustic versions, choosing instead to blast through them. Set this to 3/4 speed and it sounds normal. Listen to it as is, and is sounds FUCKING AWESOME!

Don't blast it at work (language), but I've just been floored the last few days with the album cut of Gary Clark Jr.'s "This Land". I think his new album is going to be a monster, not in sales, but perhaps in legacy:
