Posnanski to SI?

He's hinted at it twice on his website in the last couple of weeks, and says there's an announcement coming after the Olympics: http://joeposnanski.com/JoeBlog/

Not sure if the website is moving to SI.com (which is probably the most realistic), or if he's becoming a columnist for SI itself. He'd be a great back-page guy, in my opinion.

    Where does he say that?

It would be a great hire for SI if true and another huge, huge loss for newspapers.

  4. I could live with someone going to SI, though. It's definitely part of the old guard and not some indication that newspapers are crumbling. I mean, it's always been the goal of great newspaper writers to end up at SI, even in the salad days.

    Here's the original mention:
Two later teases -- throwaway lines about reading a certain magazine on the flight to China and trying to log on to SI.com over there, both paragraphs tagged with Posterisks* suggesting they contain hints about his BIG. NEWS.

    Here's one hint:

    Go about three paragraphs down.

    Here's another:

    And here's a third:

I think you are reading way too much into this.

He mentioned reading SI on a plane (everybody does this) and said he was unable to click on SI.com while in China, and now, suddenly, he is going to start working for them?

I'm sure he is just planning on upgrading his website. He does this often.

Hint or no hint, he's the first guy I'd pick for that back page. Though there are certainly others I'd love to see there too.

But what I want to know is, is he going to the Springsteen concert in K.C.?

And as long as I can read his work, I don't give a shit who his employer is.

SI just gave Selena Roberts a boatload of money to do the back page. Are they really going to give Pos another boatload to do the same thing?
