I wish he could say why he's leaving SI, but the 'secret' venture he's teased sounds interesting.

Go read the piece where he tries to justify Willie Mays' 50-year pattern of surly behavior.

I think there's enough evidence out there, all of it provided by Pos himself, that it's not going to be a prodigy of fearless truth-telling. That spiel he gave that PSU sportswriting class would've embarrassed Ron Ziegler.

Is Posnanski the reigning sportswriter-with-a-hat now that Bert Sugar is gone?

Clearly he was lured down this path by that fiendish gateway drug: a free round of golf.

I saw mention of this in MMQB.

Would love to know the full story.

It seems like the revolving door on the back page of SI may have played a part in a couple people leaving.

It's been all Phil Taylor for a few months, now, with the exception of one Roy Blount Jr. guest appearance.

    I've been impressed with Taylor.

Phil Taylor is excellent. Is Selena Roberts still at the magazine? I never understood the allure of her columns in the New York Times or SI. They were good, not great.

Selena left SI at the end of the year.

Did she leave the magazine for good? I thought she was just on book leave.

EDIT: Never mind. You're 100 percent correct. Found the link.
