    Good call on Allison. Didn't he get picked up by someone?

    And Mandarich's career was all because of drugs ('roids), not done in by drugs.

    Not at the top of the list, but up there certainly: Todd Marinovich.

    I was watching the NFL Network special on the 1971 SB champion Cowboys while waiting for the Insight Bowl replay to come on. Bob Lilly said something to the effect of, "I played against Jim Brown and with Duane Thomas, and Thomas could have been just as great as Brown."

    Thomas hit his peak in that Super Bowl. He was out of football by 1975, at the age of 27.
