It seems like a good time to ask what brand of car or light truck you drive.

1997 Ford Escort. My grandmother gave me the car. It used to be my aunt's before it was hers.

If I had my druthers, I would probably drive a Toyota.

I drive a 2004 Nissan Sentra. With 177,000 miles on it. Hate the car, but it's durable. Before that was an Xterra, Honda Civic, Mazda RX-7, Honda Accord, Nissan Sentra, Mazda B2200 truck, Mazda 323 wagon and a Volkswagen Rabbit. There you go.

    I drive a 2001 Dodge Durango.

However, I spent an hour or so last week combing each of the Big Three's Web sites for cars/trucks/suvs that I would consider buying. There weren't any (although I'd take a Viper if someone gave it to me).

My family has one each of the Big Three -- a Chevy Cobalt, Ford F-250 and a Chrysler van.

I have a 2000 Chrysler Concorde with 130k miles. My third and definitely last Chrysler, though it's holding up well outside the busted A/C. Wife has a 2005 Ford Taurus.

Our m.o. for cars since getting married has been to buy used American 4dr sedans and drive 'em into the ground.

2005 Chevrolet Silverado -- my "work" truck; utility vehicle
2007 Honda Accord -- wife drives to work; family car
2003 Harley Davidson Softail Nightrain -- Cuts our total fuel consumption by about 15-20 percent, when you factor in the days I drive my truck to work, instead (rain, super-duper cold, etc.)

Got a Malibu. No complaints. Particularly like the 33mpg highway. Had a Silverado, loved it. Fiance has a Mustang, looks hot (as does she in it) but it's nothing special unless an asshole tries to cut in front of you on the interstate. It's got good pep.

Youngest Editude has a cheap, in many ways, American car; rest of us drive foreign makes (although Mrs. Editude's was built here, which shows how complicated this issue is).

2000 Ford Ranger 4x4 extended cab

All I've ever owned has been Fords (in order - 66 Mustang, 87 Ranger, 91 T-bird, truck I have now). My dad has always driven Fords. Both of my grandfathers drove Fords. I guess it's in the blood.
