I find it funny that Oprah thinks she knows EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING because she has a successful talk show. Sort of like a "sports columnist" in Detroit ...

I don't like her, but she means well...

I don't have any problem with her supporting Obama because it's the first time she's ever done it. It's not like Streisand or Springsteen who are out shilling for candidates every year, like they should tell you who to vote for. I respect that Oprah has only done it once. I actually think hers is one celebrity endorsement that won't backfire.

We weren't talking about Betty Freidan or Gloria Steinem, we were talking about Oprah.

Yeah, I forgot about the giveaway of the automobiles. Damnit, to get a car on television you have to win it on a quiz show.

Kinda like "BYH as a lover tends to meet at the perfect storm of eagerness and impatience."

Agreed. Think of how set for life you would be if you got her prego.

Also agree with Three_bags. Her political leanings may not be aligned with mine most of the time, but she has done a lot more good to this world than harm. Anyone who loathes her really has no clue as to the good she has done.

    Yeah but that's undeniable.

To say critics of Oprah are equal parts sexist and racist is a far more sweeping and damaging statement.

I'm just waiting for Tyra Banks to endorse a candidate.

    I'm guessing they'd refuse it...

It's not the criticism so much as the vehemence that seems rooted in dubious beliefs.

I can see not liking her, really, I can. I don't watch the show, and don't have the foggiest why any man would.

But why people seem to care so much is interesting, to say the least.

Speaking of people who can't think for themselves.
