    Not having an impact on the outcome -- and the outcome having an impact on your work.
    Two different things, Red.
    I agree with you that sports betting should be legal everywhere. I think American attitudes toward this are absolutely juvenile.
    But the potential for a reporter to start ripping a coach's decision-making because it cost him a $500 bet is why it's unethical. I don't know how it could be more clear.
    There's nothing terribly wrong with playing fantasy for fun and a buck or two, even in a sport you cover. But if you're playing for enough money where it could cloud your judgment, that, too, would be a problem.
