If she's not HIS teacher, I think she can raise a hell of a legal fuss.

 

The law says "with a student," not "his or her student." Seems cut and dried.

No, because there's always the possibility that she may become his teacher. And the authority figure role is constant. Any teacher at a school can discipline a student, or not discipline a student, as the case may be.

I had an old high school friend of mine who was arrested for pulling this crap--he was 26 and a substitute teacher, she was 17. I heard the news and wasn't surprised. He would poke anyone with a pulse.

I haven't talked to him in 10 years so I never got his side of the story. Always wondered...
