For 60 years, a mysterious man dressed in black has shown up to deliver roses and cognac. He didn't show up today.

It's believed the original one did. But his son or younger friend carried on for him for many years. Maybe he died too.

Oddly, roses and cognac showed up on a grave in Indianapolis at 2 a.m.

  5. There are several stories about it: the original died, leaving a note at Poe's grave notfiying folks the torch had been passed.. another man claimed he and a group split time performing the ritual ... and another thinks it may have ended. Last year was Poe's 200th anniversary of his birth.

Richmond's still celebrating his 201st birthday. Come on down! Ghost hunts, cemetery tours, and Ouija board fun at the Poe Museum every night this week!

Seriously, someone needs to pick up the torch. That is such a cool tradition.

I thought last year the guy left a note saying it would be the last. And yeah, I did read something once that the original Toaster passed it down to his son some years ago.
