Please give me the 7th inning stretch back

OK, 9-11 was awful and we grieved as a nation and it was fitting to change our stretch for that season. But come on, it is 2007, why the hell are we still God Blessing America?
I WANT 'TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME' BACK FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!!!
Isn't it time we moved on?

The national anthem honors America. Singing GBA (what the kids are calling it) in the seventh is just piling on.

I'm usually a big fan of tradition, but this doesn't bother me.
Paula Cole's flat singing bothers me, but not the song.

 

God Bless America is shit anyway, shit as a song and shit as an idea. America the Beautiful is an infinitely better song if you need to go patriotic, but I agree there's no need for either in the seventh inning.

Please, dear God, make this happen. I would increase my baseball attendance by a lot.

 

I mentioned this in the office a little while ago, after the first few notes of Paula Cole's prompted the use of the mute button.

 

I love Ichi -- waht is so great about his on-deck performance? I am not familiar.

I usually make a point of being in the beer line then if I'm at the game, or changing channels if I'm watching on TV.
