Play for the X Games

What kind of play have you given the X Games? How does it compare to previous years? Has the X Games peaked in terms of interest? This was the 13th edition. It may seem that their originality is gone, now that it has been around for so long. The event having more motorsports events may also be changing the level of interest or perception of the event.

Briefs. We ran a preview on an inside black and white page on Friday.

On our site, the X Games do not exist -- unless something absolutely extraordinary happens, and it hasn't happened. yet.

Briefs, if at all. I'm pretty sure the only thing we've used is the skater who fell 40-50 feet from mid air. That was a painful crash.

The skater who went splat and lived wasn't extraordinary? Even if it's only quasi-sports, it's still something people would talk about and worth mentioning. If there had been anything on the wire about that, we'd have run it. Otherwise, though, nothing here in Podunk. If we'd had more space this weekend I might have run the AP feature. But we didn't, and we didn't.
