BOX--FIGHTSKED used to run about 60 inches in agate, so that could fill at least half a page every day.

AP Sportlight becomes the top agate item (and filler).

Unless there's no fights scheduled because such events are being postponed or flat-out canceled.

Can't even rely on that old standby, the ski report.

I was figuring ski resorts would be okay - close the restaurants and shops, and only allow family members or friends to share lifts.

I've seen this idea floated around for various places, but - For that to be economically viable, they'd probably have to jack up rates substantially. Like, most of these places have basic costs to keep the lights on and to be properly staffed, which are based on a bunch of people being there. If you're a ski resort or a theme park and you're intentionally running at 10 percent capacity, you're probably losing just as much money vs. closing completely. And obviously, closing completely is just safer right now anyway.

The LA Times announced Tuesday that is was going to do away with its Sports section except for Sunday, moving any sports content inside the California section then reversed course Wednesday and said never mind, the section will remain for the near future.
