I feel his pain, though. This happens all too often on the prep desk. Though, at one of those Cajun country newspapers, this guy will likely get a slap on the wrist and a story to tell at LSWA next year.

Placeholder fail or the writer telling the brutal truth about the coach? Or both?

 

The basic rule always applies -- if you don't want it printed, don't put it on the page.

That said, this one's pretty great and I hope the coach got the well-deserved message.

 

How difficult is it to understand a basis premise in softball:

THERE IS NO MOUND IN SOFTBALL.

Even Sports Illustrated screws this up.

 

Johnny Jones, Jimmy Smith, Some Fucker, Tommy White, Jerry Green...

 

Firing offense. Sorry, kid, but you can't call out someone's "bullshit" in print.

 

"So, can you tell me about a time you made a mistake, what consequences resulted from it, and how you handled it?"

 

Well....

 

At least no one will notice the unfinished sentence two paragraphs up.

 

Sadly, I did. I attribute it to bullshit and laziness.
