I'm a Pittsburgher, and I disapprove of this message.

Shhh, don't dissuade him. I don't want people to start crowding into one of the nation's most liveable cities.

Not sure if it has been mentioned, but get a fish sandwich.

Go to a local bar that talks theirs up in an ad and give it a shot.

So we have Yinzers on one side and everybody else on the other.

I've been to Pipers, as well, for a routine EPL Saturday.
My Liverpool lads weren't even playing, but I had the grandest time.
    This is a four-star recommendation.

The Original Oyster House is one of the great bars in America, but if you want to stop in with your wife, to be on the safe side, make sure it's in daylight hours. When I went to college I think it was $1 for a fish sandwich and a beer.

The Post Tavern on Smithfield Street; don't know if it's still there or not. Bottle of beer was 25 cents!

Alas, Jimmy's Post, a college/post-college haunt of mine, is no more.
There's still a bar there, but I've no idea if it retained the original's charm.

    What's a "liveable" city?

    One with air and water?

No flammable rivers is good, too.

    It might be!

Since the Scottish FA Cup Final will be shown, you can bet your ass I will be there.

The suggestions via this thread and PMs thus far are fantastic. Now, I just need to select a hotel and get that all sorted out!

I'm a Marriott guy, but I hate the property next to the Civic Arena . . . er, Mellon Arena or whatever it's called . . . if you have a car with you. There's a $20 per night parking charge and they won't waive it.

Not sure if there's still a Sheraton across the river, at Station Square.
