Pittsburgh ESPN Radio guy arrested on child porn charges

Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by BitterYoungMatador2, Jul 23, 2007.

  1. But according to Boom, the girl said she was 15.

  2. That's an odd comparison

No, I'm talking any friends for you. Zero.
And if no on has answered your stupid question, take the hint. We don't know, nor do we want to.

This seems like it would be an easy way for parents to get rid of 18 year old senior boyfriend of their 15 year old sophomore daughter.

They could just drop a dime on the kid and have his computer confiscated.

  5. I get Boom's point, though.
Is Boom's friend regularly trolling the malt shoppes and high-school lunchrooms looking for dates? Is he calling random Senior Girl Scouts at their homes and asking them out? Is he hiding under the bleachers at freshman soccer games? In short, does he have a predilection for this sort of thing? If not, then what is it about the Internet that enabled him to act out in this way? And, if it was an idea put in his mind by the person on the other end, how is that any difference than the drug-sting-gone-wrong that got Patrick Dorismond shot?

Exactly - just going from what I know of kid. Who knows maybe they will find a history but I don't see it.
I also understand that the police have to look at it in black and white.

  7. But they ought to be very VERY careful about entrapment in this thing. What happens if the guy says he'll show up and then doesn't?
    That person gets arrested.
That, to me, is the police creating a virtual crime and exacting real punishment.

I understand, too. Hell, in a lot of states a 15-year-old (or younger) could legally marry a 22-year-old and no one would bat an eye.

Seems to me if you are snaring folks online, they should pretend to be 12 or 13 and weed out the sickest.

Your best bet is to call the FBI and turn yourself in. Maybe they'll take it easy on you.

Got better things to do. But It's a legit question that I may have to resort to the authorities on. I just thought someone here might know the answer.

I've only talked with Duff a few times, but he seemed like a fantastic guy. This really sucks.

  12. Yeah, resort to the authorites.

Boots: Hello, FBI, I'd like to know if you're automatically tracked if you google kiddie porn sites.
FBI: Why don't you come down to the office and we'll talk about it.
