There is a gray area in all of this. I have a cousin - 22 in college part time and also working - got caught in a police sting. Thought he was going to meet a 15 year old girl at mall. Turned out it was undercover cop. Now his life is ruined.

Yes the bells should have went off when the "girl" said she was 15 but he claims that he was pushed and in effect entrapped. He does not traffic in child pornorgraphy as the police checked his computer. Now the case is based on transcripts.
I know him to be a good kid that got into something over his head.

You're right on 93Devil. ... I know someone - who is kinda in the biz - and he's battled this addiction for quite sometime. Luckily he got help before he did anything drastic or just plain stupid. There is such a thing as Sexaholics Anonymous.

    Boom,

Why would a 22-year-old want to meet a 15-year-old that he has never seen?

  4. Yikes.

Not sure how you can be pushed into meeting a 15-year-old at the mall.

Those "To Catch A Predator" shows are so much fun to watch. I love hearing some of the excuses these people come up with ...

Ace - agree - I asked same question. He claims she pushed him to just meet. I guess the transcripts will be the key as to what exactly was said.

Don't know. Best to err on the side of caution.

Better change your name, shower shoes.

Boom, I hate to say it, but you are correct. There should be degrees to all of this. I guy who molests a five-year-old should have an entire separate level of afterlife and prison, but your cousin needs to be punished severely.

To quote Silent Bob... "There are tons of fine looking women in the world." It's just not that all of them are 15. Choose another one.

You are right, I don't have any friends like that.
Now, does anyone know if you can be tracked for just googling kiddie porn?

That's a start. He also should strap a car battery to his computer and never log on again -- just to be safe.

Probably same way a 50 year old President could be pushed into meeting 22 year old intern in oval office.

Um, well ... I probably shouldn't admit this but when I was 15, I told a couple of cute guys at the beach I was 18. They were in their mid-20s. ... I am condoning the behavior but I am saying, I could see where a 22-year-old guy (who might have the maturity of a 19 year old) would be into a younger girl. It's not right but I could see it. Plus, I'm constantly amazed at the teens these days - some girls look like they're 21 and they're barely 17.
