Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by Moderator1, Dec 31, 2010.

  1. is it fair that Pitt fired this guy without any due process? Just asking for opinion here.

Yes. But they did what they had to do. Even if he's 100 percent innocent (which I doubt) it's a PR disaster.

They cut their losses. I don't blame them for a second.

Fair doesn't matter when you have a coach who has to convince players to trust him and players' parents to believe he'll do the right things as a leader.

Nice touch with the booking mug, btw.

Pitt fans are buoyed by the knowledge that Steve Pederson will get to fuck up two coaching searches in less than a month.

    Here's the Pittsburgh news story:

includes full statement from school president.

Somebody mentioned Malzahn a few pages back. Can't see that system working in Western Pa with the kind of athletes that Pitt recruits.

And Pitt will never return to prominence until it brings back these unis:

Absolutely had to be done. Maybe a big-name hire gets due-process respect -- big maybe -- but this guy doesn't qualify.

At the college level it doesn't matter who you are. If you get caught in a domestic violence situation you're toast.
