Masudur Rahman, an Arabic-language instructor at the University of Memphis and Mohamed Zaghloul, a religious leader in the Islamic Association of Greater Memphis told the AP they were removed from a flight leaving Memphis International Airport, heading for Charlotte, after the pilot refused to takeoff.

The pilot needs to stick to flying planes that don't have human cargo. What an idiot.

I hear he's up for a gig at the new Trump Airlines.

    Disgusting.

But not surprising. Even the supposedly well-educated can be ignorant.

This will not end well either for Delta or the pilot.

Oh, the pilot will be the new Joe the Plumber; he'll be fine. Delta, on the other hand...

Fox has probably already called. And though the flight was on a regional carrier, Delta will end up taking the brunt of the PR hit.

There is simply no reason for this. The two men had gotten through TSA screening. They had every right to be on that flight. We can't allow Islamophobia to override established procedures and basic human dignity.

And how's this for irony: The two men were coming to Charlotte for a conference on tolerance, where they were to discuss Islamophobia. I guess now they have a nice object lesson for their talk.

"We just flew in from Memphis and boy our arms tired."

Seriously, if the pilot screamed profanities over the intercom, grabbed some beers and blasted out the emergency exit, he would be loved by millions right now.

The sad thing is that he'll be loved by millions for doing THIS shit.

You got a point there, unfortunately. But that love will be kept to e-mail chains.
