I have always felt hunting stuff has no place in a sports section.

Hunting is not a sport. If the animals had guns and could shoot back, then maybe it's a realistic sport/competition.

 

Sorry to the animal lovers and whatever, but if you're in a big hunting area, and this is truly a record, it's newsworthy, including a pic.

Dropping them out of the blue into a paper that never does that kind of thing might be less appropriate.

We run hunting photos every week on Thursdays if they're turned in to us. Our one big rule is the catch/whatever has to have been within the last 45 days.

 

Run it on the op-ed page with a column denouncing hunting and, as others have said, questioning the one-sided sport of it.

 

Which is exactly what the op-ed page is for.

 

I think we should be allowed to run the autopsy photos when one of these drunk assholes blows off his friend's head thinking he's Bambi. But that's me ...
