Photoshop (CS2) question

I know, I know, this should be on the design board, but I'm wary of no one seeing it and it dying a slow, painful death, so apologies in advance:

Working in layers, when it comes to text, I want to use 100 black. So I change the three color percentages to zero and make the black 100 and all is well, right?

    Uh, no. ???

When the negs come out, the type is in four colors: 75 cyan, 68 magenta, 67 yellow and 90 black, to be exact, after reopening my PSD document, which is what I do all the work on before finally saving it as an EPS.

If anyone can assist, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks, friends.

Not sure, but try 1-1-1-100... perhaps they need a value.

  3. Make sure your document/workspace is set in CMYK. It sounds like you're working in RGB or something.

Photoshop has always done that. Have no idea why.

If possible, do everything except for type in photoshop, then make it an InDesign document, put the type on, and it should be true black.
