On a more serious note, I have to ask this question: Given the sheer candlepower of the klieg lights and camera flash guns pointed at him, aren't the results a little skewed? Shouldn't the teeming hordes of media at this major public event be kept at a minimum safe distance of ... say, 150 yards ... so their equipment doesn't interfere with Phil's significant contribution to American meteorology?

I went to Goundhog Day the year the movie came out. At the time I was doing promotion work for Columbia Pictures, which released the film. It was one of the best times I ever had, although I was freezing. This was when you could still drink...it may have been the last year.
